לקיים בנו חכמי ישראל • Status Quo in Condition of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman

3

There is continued concern regarding the condition of Maran Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman, who remains hospitalized at the Intensive Care Unit at Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak, where he spent Shabbos under the close watch of physicians.

“Stable but difficult,” is the way the situation was described by Rav Shteinman’s personal doctor, Dr. Avrohom Weinberg, who said that the rosh yeshiva is receiving “all necessary treatment.”

Elaborating, Dr. Weinberg said that Rav Shteinman’s “breathing, blood pressure and pulse are fine, but the overall situation is difficult. It is hoped that the rav will recover. He is suffering primarily from a fever.”

Dr. Weinberg added: “I have treated the rosh yeshiva for ten years. He has been in more difficult situations than he is now and has pulled through, so we are hoping that he can come through this time as well. It is difficult to predict, however, what will be. We will see tomorrow morning how he is doing and determine our medical approach at that time.”

Rav Shteinman continues to suffer from pneumonia, the illness that first required his hospitalization last Sunday. He continues to receive medication intravenously.

Rav Shteinman davened over Shabbos in his hospital room and also lit neiros Chanukah there.

Dr. Motti Ravid related that Rav Shteinman is breathing on his own and is fully conscious, but he is very weak and unable to eat by himself. Coughing is also challenging for him. “However,” he said, “there has been no deterioration since Friday.”

Tefillos continue to be said across the Torah world for Rav Shteinman.

All are asked to daven for Rav Aharon Yehudah Leib ben Gittel Faiga.

    • He’s not an individual person, he is the klal.
He doesn’t think for himself, he thinks for the klal.
He doesn’t eat for himself, he eats for the klal.
May he have a speedy recovery.
