It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Chaim Binyomin Lutzkin zt”l at the age of 85.
A son of Rav Elazar and Chaya Bluma Lutzkin, Rav Lutzkin was born in Yerushalayim and spent some 50 years of his life as a talmid of Yeshivas Mir in the Bais Yisroel section of Yerushalayim.
A respected talmid chochom renowned for his remarkable hasmadah, Rav Lutzkin could be seen learning in the ezras noshim of Yeshivas Mir at all hours and for many consecutive hours without disturbance. One of his well-known chavrusos was Rav Zev Katzenelenbogen, gabbai at Zichron Moshe.
On Shabbos, Rav Luztkin usually davened at Yeshiva Torah Veyirah in Meah Shearim.
He is survived by a beautiful family of bnei Torah, including nine children and many ainiklach.
The levaya was held last night beginning at his home of Rechov Yoel and then at Yeshivas Mir en route to Har Hazeisim, where kevurah took place.
