planeFliers are very protective of their leg room. One passenger on a Newark to Denver flight this weekend protected his with a pair of Knee Defenders, a device to prevent the chair in front from reclining. He was asked to remove the device and when he refused a fight broke out, with the woman in front of him throwing a cup of water in his direction.

The plane was diverted to Chicago and both passengers were forcibly removed. The Knee Defender is a plastic brace that hooks to tray tables and is banned by most U.S. airlines. Read more at Gizmodo.

  1. I can’t stand when those inconsiderate selfish people lean back on me! I just bang my knees into the back of their chair

  2. THOSE SELFISH INCONSIDERATE PEOPLE LEANING BACK ARE EXERCISING THEIR RIGHTS AS A PAYING PASSENGER TO LEAN BACK.
DO **YOU SIT UPRIGHT FOR THE FULL 5 HOUR FLIGHT?
or are you equally using your rights to lean back…YOUR the selfish person expecting the world to revolve around what YOU WANT.

THATS THE WAY IT IS FOR NOT PAYING 3 TIMES
    THE PRICE FOR FIRST CLASS…..

  3. and you lean forward on your chair. if the chair has the option of leaning back, it was done so it can be used, the fact that you do not like it, does not justify you from preventing someone to use it

  4. Sounds to me more like viral marketing than like air rage.

By the way, not all seats can recline. One can ask the airline for a seat behind emergency exit row, or other seats that are blocked in the upright position (e.g. bulkhead row): such requests are honored, especially when there is a good reason, e.g. being tall, but really they honor those requests in a straightforward manner. Airlines want smooth flights and quiet passengers and will accommodate, all it takes is to ask.

Don’t forget to take a walk from time to time: DVT is no joke.
