fireA fire in the Sierra Nevada mountain range has destroyed 1,000 homes, California fire officials said.

At least two people have died in the fire, which is now 67 percent contained. Yet officials worry that upcoming high temperatures and winds may undo some of that work.

A separate fire in Lake County has destroyed 600 homes and killed three people. Read more at the Los Angeles Daily News.
