Update below: A Crown Heights boy who spent Simchas Torah with one of his parents in Upstate New York has gone missing since late Motzoei Shabbos.
Benyamin Simantov-Linkov, 12, was last seen wearing a white dress shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black yarmulka.
He is 5′ 2″ and learns in the Ohr Menachem boys school in Crown Heights. His date of birth is 12/02/1998.
The Misaskim organization, along with Catskills Hatzoloh in coordination with the Monticello Police, Monticello Fire Department, Sullivan County Sheriff Department and New York State Police have set up a command center to oversee the search at the Hebrew Day School on Route 42 across from Gibbers Road in Kiamesha Lake.
In Crown Heights, Hatzalah, Shmira and Shomrim volunteers are involved in the search across the Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn.
“We have searched 770, Kingston Avenue and the parks,” a member of Hatzalah Crown Heights told COLlive. “We are asking the public to keep an eye out for him.”
Contact Hatzalah at 718-230-1000 or Monticello Police Department at 845-794-4422 if you have any info to offer.
Foul play is not suspected.
Update 10:35 p.m. EST: Benyamin has been found in Monticello in good condition, boruch Hashem.
