Approximately three years ago 12-year-old Alexis Bortell had to leave her home in Texas in order to treat her severe form of epilepsy — known as intractable epilepsy — with cannabis.

Now she is challenging the U.S. Controlled Substance Act by suing Attorney General Jeff Sessions so that others like her won’t have to leave home in fear of retribution from the federal government if they, too, use medical marijuana.

The suit aims to prove that the Controlled Substances Act, the statute governing federal drug policy, is unconstitutional as it relates to marijuana, according to Alexis’ attorney, Michael S. Hiller. Read more at NBC News.

  1. I seriously hope she wins. Floppy Ears has turned out to be a total failure. The pipsqueak is in way over his head. He has proven to be incompetent. He is afraid of Adam Schiff calling him a racist. He is petrified of his own shadow. I’m very disappointed with President Trump for not firing this Alfred E Neuman character already.

  2. What’s the problem? She lives in Colorado, which is one of the 29 states which have legalized medical marijuana. Even recreational use is legal in Colorado.

    I smell an agenda here.

    • Per the story, her agenda is “…so that others like her won’t have to leave home in fear of retribution from the federal government if they, too, use medical marijuana.” Sounds reasonable to me.
