Deadly Marine Crash

Two Marine Corps officers were killed during a training exercise on Friday, when their helicopter crashed in the Southern California desert, officials said Sunday. Capt. Elizabeth Kealey, 32, and 1st Lt. Adam Satterfield, 25, died from injuries in the fatal crash at the Twentynine Palms Marine base.

The two were the only Marines aboard the UH-1Y Huey helicopter and were both based at Camp Pendleton.

“Capt. Kealey and 1st Lt. Satterfield were both outstanding Marine Coprs officers and talented helicopter pilots,” said their commanding officer Lt. Col. James M. Isaacs. “Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of our fallen Vipers, and we stand poised to support them in this tragedy.”
