The annual event attracts Yidden from across Eretz Yisroel and from abroad. The thousands davened and said Tehillim at the kevorim of our avos, Avrohom, Yitzchok and Yaakov, and imahos, Sarah, Leah and Rivkah.

This year’s “Shabbos Chevron,” for the first time in 12 years, featured the opening of the streets of the Kasba – the old city marketplace and former Jewish quarter of Chevron – to crowds of Jewish visitors. The guests saw 19th-century Jewish homes and institutions, now occupied by Arabs.

The Jewish Community of Chevron released a statement saying, “We thank the myriads of visitors, as well as the security forces and the residents of Chevron and Kiryat Arba who opened their homes and their hearts. We await the day when 25,000 Jews will live in Chevron and will not be just visitors.”
