7 Bnei Brak children are reportedly living in dangerous levels of poverty, say Kupat Ha’Ir representatives on the scene. Their mother, Mrs. Yemima Ben-Shalom is suffering from muscular dystrophy. Her disease deteroriates her muscles over time. She is in constant pain, barely able to move.

Their father, once a financial provider, must stay home at all times, to take care of his wife. He uses the little money they have to scrape together meals for the children.

There is no foreseeable solution to their suffering.

Their mother, in desperate hopes of providing for her children, has opened an emergency campaign. Her appeal is signed, simply, “a mom.”

With Chanukah around the corner, the children will see treats and toys in store windows. They will watch as the other kids around them are able to afford new warm clothing for winter, while they squeeze into last year’s attire. And while they will see their lack with empty tummies and cold hands, perhaps they will also remember another theme of the holiday : Miracles.

At this point in their suffering, the Ben-Sholom children will truly need a miracle to lead normal lives.
