Thousands of demonstrators protesting a grand jury’s decision not to indict the police officer who killed Eric Garner took to the streets in New York City for a second night on Thursday.

Protesters shut down rush-hour traffic on the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, chanting and holding signs bearing slogans such as “Black lives matter” and “hands up, don’t shoot.”

Protests also took place outside the Staten Island Ferry station, which was shut down for the night, and in cities across America, including Oakland, Calif., Savannah, Ga., and Washington D.C. There were no immediate reports of arrests. Read more.
