30 Babies Born in Bnei Brak On Yom Kippur

babyAt Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak, 30 babies were born over Yom Kippur, a day that often sees many births amongst the chareidi community in Eretz Yisroel and chutz laaretz due to the fast.

950 babies were born at the hospital just in the month of September.

The hospital, since its inception two decades ago, has seen approximately 140,000 births.

Most amazing, says Dr. Benny Chen, director of Labor and Delivery at Mayanei Hayeshua, is that, boruch Hashem, about 89.5% of births at the hospital are natural, and only 10.5% are by Caesarean section, less than half the national average. This is thanks to a team of specialists who possess to heightened awareness of the importance of natural childbirth.

Dr. Chen added that last year the hospital saw the birth of more than 10.000 children. According to statistics, Mayanei Hayeshua is third in the country in the number of births.
