Despite a persistent downpour, some 30,000 people marched through New York on Sunday in the annual Celebrate Israel Parade.
The night before the parade, the Empire State Building was lit up in blue and white to mark the occasion.
The Celebrate Israel Parade included marchers from more than 250 Jewish and pro-Israel organizations, floats, marching bands and performers such as the Yeshiva University-based a cappella group The Maccabeats.

The parade includes toeivah groups as well as BDS groups. They won’t allow a kahane group to March. It’s run by left wing secular Jews despite 70 per cent being modern orthodox yeshivoth. Years ago it was rabbi Avigdor miller ztl who stopped the toeivahs from marching by getting the yeshivas who March to threaten a boycott. Today no one cares. It’s a society out for money.
