Four senior Secret Service executives have been fired as part of a department shakeup following a series of embarrassing scandals over the past few years.

According to The Washington Post, four assistant directors who oversee the agency’s “core missions of protection, investigations, technology and public affairs” were told by Acting Director Joseph P. Clancy that they must leave their roles. They can either resign or be reassigned to new positions within the agency or in the Department of Homeland Security.

The assistant director in charge of training recently announced he would retire, as well.

These departures follow the resignation of former director Julia Pierson after the Secret Service suffered a series of public embarrassments, including allowing an armed man to break into the White House. Read it at the Washington Post.

  1. Can they get their subject to resign or be reassigned along together in the shuffle of duties and responsibilities? There are millions of Americans who would really be pleased.
