obama2On President Barack Obama’s birthday, a new CNN/Opinion Research released Wednesday shows 41 percent of Republicans believe Obama was “probably” or “definitely” born in another country.

The poll of 1,018 adults shows 27 percent of Americans believe the president was “probably” or “definitely” born in another country, compared with 71 percent who think he was born in the United States.

Among the 285 self-identified Republicans polled, however, the percentage who think Obama was born outside of the country spikes to 41 percent, with 57 percent believing he was born in the United States.

Nineteen percent of independents think Obama was “probably” or “definitely” born in another country, as do 15 percent of Democrats. CNN/Opinion Research surveyed 398 independents and 335 Democrats for the poll.

A certificate of live birth from the state of Hawaii confirms that Wednesday is indeed the president’s 49th birthday spent as a natural-born American citizen, yet the so-called “birther” conspiracy theory that he was born in Kenya or another country has persisted since the 2008 campaign.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh floated the theory during his show Tuesday, mentioning that the next day was the president’s birthday, though he hasn’t “seen any proof of that.”

The poll was conducted July 16-21 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

  1. Until the Obstructionist Obama Administration releases a certified copy of the birth certificate in question, this issue will not go away.

  2. not only do we belive we are very very definite and the dumb democrats belive the same but are ashame to come out and say so. his presidency should be desolved and we need new elections

The obvious question is: Why did he not already provide that famous certified copy?
The obvious answer is: There is no such an original, so you can’t make a copy.

This will go into history as the biggest joke yet played on the American people.

  4. The President was born abroad – and there are such things as flying saucers, the Abominable Snowman is no myth, there are little green men on Mars and Rush Limbaugh has a Ph.D. in political science.

Get a life, you people. So you don’t like Obama. Lots of people don’t, and lots of people (not usually the same ones) didn’t like Bush either. You’re entitle to your opinions. Let’s just not get delusional, OK? Or at some point the State of Hawaii is going to start suing people for libel, by saying that they can’t keep their records straight.

You don’t like the President, you vote for someone else. The US Supreme Court thinks Obama is a native-born American, and that’s good enough for me.

  5. Have the powers-that-be released conclusive proof that Obama was born in the US and has the Supremem Court heard the case and ruled in favour of the President?

Surely such credentials have to be provided in order to qualify to run for president and be inaugurated.

But if it turns out that he is not American-born, I think that politically, and perhaps even legally, there is no remedy. American elections can only be held once every four years on a certain date in the calendar. No circumstance is judged to be powerful enough to change it. Even if the president dies, there are no new elections. Rather, a certain hierarchy is followed as to who steps in for him. The comments asking for Obama’s ouster are not on legal grounds but on emotional grounds. Therefore, if his ouster is indeed sought, one should reflect on who will take his place? Biden? Will he be more palatable?

Unnatural removals have not always boded well for us, anyway. Trotsky was replaced by Stalin and Sadddam was replaced by Ahmadinejad.

In general, the Jewish way to respond to troubles the Jewish People suffers from a world leader is to turn towards Hashem for help, that He turn the heart of the leader, which is in His Hands anyway, towards our common good, and not by seeking his demise, resignation, impeachment, or any other swift departure from the scene.
