5.1 Earthquake Hits L.A.

earthquake-los-angelesA magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattled Southern California Friday night around 9 p.m., leaving over 100 aftershocks and scattered damage. The quake’s epicenter was in La Habra, but trembling was felt as far away as San Diego.

Authorities said about 50 people were displaced by the damage, which mostly consisted of broken windows and disarranged homes and stores. The quake caused a rock slide in Carbon Canyon, which overturned one car and resulted in minor injuries. Read more at the Los Angeles Times.
