camp-emes[Video below.] Entering its tenth summer of operation, Camp Emes is proud to continue its sacred role of giving hundreds of mesivta-aged boys the opportunity to spend their summers in the most exalted of locations.

It is the goal and ever-present vision of the camp to offer a meaningful program that is full of depth and one that is expressed through the lens of a Torah perspective. Timeless lessons of Yahadus and faith are imparted to the campers daily as they experience Tanach firsthand and encounter thousands of years of history in our ancestral homeland.

Camp Emes is a much sought-after program, with hundreds of applicants each summer, sons of parents who want their children to taste the Camp Emes signature blend of thrilling adventure and long-lasting educational experiences.

Over four summers ago, the camp administration created an optional pre-camp trip to Poland. The combined trip has seen electrifying results. The trip has become dubbed “the Chareidi March of The Living ” and is the only experience of its kind made available for frum high-schoolers from all around the world.

The Poland trip’s success and its remarkable ability to infuse in its participants vast amounts of comprehensive Holocaust education along with invaluable Torah messages have mechanchim and educators around the globe amazed by the clear results exhibited by the boys throughout the school year. In just a few short days, the boys comb through an entire country, learning all about a rich history that existed pre-war in the many cities, shtetlach and kehillos they visit. The Holocaust and its horrific tragedy is confronted as the boys are taken to the sites of the death camps. The entire trip is powerful, emotional and uplifting.

The connections that are forged and the lessons learned are what set the tone for the ensuing thrilling six weeks of an incredible summer in Eretz Yisroel.

“In a day and age when mechanchim must have the pulse of a world that sweeps our kids away with fast-paced technology, we must get creative,” says Rabbi Elly Merenstein, founder and director of Camp Emes. “Our trip carries the very elements and crucial messages that we all want embedded in the hearts and minds of our kids forever. The way that those messages seep in is through the lively enthusiasm, spunk and positivity that Camp Emes has become loved and known for.”

The boys joining the program are carefully screened bnei Torah from upstanding yeshivos such as Ner Yisroel in Baltimore, Mirrer Yeshiva, Yeshiva Torah Temimah in Brooklyn, Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim of Flatbush, Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway, Yeshiva Derech Ayson of Far Rockaway, Yeshiva Yesodei Yeshurin in Queens, and many others.

  1. Though my sons have never attended camp EMES (as they are not old enough), I am a really big fan of this program. I know Eli Merenstein personally – he is so passionate about yiddishkeit, chinuch and Eretz Yisroel. There’s nothing better than a camp director who truly cares about every single camper above all other considerations and I think that is why his campers love him so much! This camp is really the best of both worlds – the campers have an absolute blast and every detail is thought out and taken care of – but more importantly, they come away with an uplifting experience in ruchnius that is a spectacular hashkafic grounding that can last a lifetime. When I choose a camp for my own kids I am looking for a place where I know that someone will be paying close attention to them and making sure they are very well taken care of, happy, safe, and growing – this is Emes (and yes, that’s the Emes!).

  2. What is amazing is watching this camp building up from the bottom to the world renowned beloved program it is today. I went to Camp Agudah with the one and only Camp Agudah legend ELMER ( eli merenstein) and it is truly inspiring to witness what he has done. When he was in camp he was the most popular counselor, starred in all the skits and plays wrote all the songs but what was most amazing about him was how unassuming he was and how he literally was best friends with every camper and staff member no matter who they were. There are many guys that i know whos life he impacted in a huge way from Agudah back in the day ( miss those days..) . It is so nice to see him furthering that by his work at this camp. Any boy that goes to this camp is really lucky and Hatzlacha Camp Emes!!
