rav-aharon-teitelbaum-satmarSnowstorm Nemo may have dumped a great amount of snow on New York, but it could not disrupt or dampen the spirits of the Shabbos spent in Boro Park by Satmar Chassidim with Rav Aharon Teitelbaum of Satmar.

Thousands of Chassidim, devotees and local residents and guests from around New York joined the Rebbe, who resides in Kiryas Yoel, NY, for tefillos and tishen.

The Rebbe’s visit comes as a new Satmar building is being constructed in Boro Park. The structure is set to have some 70 classrooms, a wedding ballroom, and several smaller halls.

Construction began about six months ago, and now work on the first floor has begun. A special Livnas Hasapir event is scheduled to be held on Sunday the week of Parshas Vayikra.

The Friday night tish didn’t end until after 1:30 in the morning, and a large crowd gathered again Shabbos morning for davening with the Rebbe. Sources state that at Shacharis, funds were raised for the new building, with total contributions totaling roughly eight and a half million dollars.

Following the tefillos, the Rebbe visited the home of a prominent supporter, who pledged a half million dollars, and spent the seudas Shabbos with those who have contributed over a quarter-million dollars to the new building.

Following Maariv and Havdalah at the culmination of Shabbos, the Rebbe went to the home of his host, where he met those who have contributed various amounts toward the construction of the new building.

In honor of the Shabbos, a new siddur based on the nusach of Siget was released, as was an album containing new musical compositions.

  1. To Working Stiff:
    Define “overpriced”
    a. more than is necessary to pay the competent rebbeim and morahs
    b. more than is necessary to pay the incompetent rebbeim and morahs c. more than you want to pay
    d. more than is worth what you are getting out of it
if you chose A – either you are grossly uninformed as to what the very talented people in the chinuch field are getting paid, or you are sending your kid to a rare school that actually pays the talented people more than they are worth, probably one in a million – so why are you sending there.
if you chose B – get your kid out of the school
if you chose C – change youre perspective based on what I wrote for A, unless B is applicable, in which case you should follow my instructions at B.
if you chose D – Perhaps you need some parenting classes which would help you be a complementary partner to the mechanchim that are valiantly trying to educate your kid, unless B is applicable, in which case you should follow my instructions at B.

    if you chose B
