obama-health-careAccording to new reports, at least 9.5 million previously uninsured people obtained health care coverage under the  Affordable Care Act since enrollment began in October.

Today is the end of open enrollment for 2014.

This marks the largest expansion in coverage since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965. Fewer than 1 million people who lost their coverage are still uninsured, according to claims of the Obama adminsitration.

The data is ostensibly culled from reviews of state and federal enrollment reports and interviews with insurance execs and government officials. Read more at the L.A. Times.

  1. From Beritbart:

The Los Angeles Times greeted the Obamacare enrollment data on Monday with a striking headline, claiming that “at least 9.5 million previously uninsured people have gained coverage,” which is 3 million people more than the Obama administration itself claimed last week (a number that was itself highly questionable, since it did not exclude those who had not paid for their new insurance). The Times’ analysis, however, is laughable.

  2. No problem. Some more people applied for Medicaid; that is the only insurance that is worth being on in this country at this time. The rest are unaffordable.

  3. 9.5m more have insurance that is fantastic news. Unfortunately a lot of the time medicaid doesn’t include a lot of good dr’s

  4. Better an average doctor than no doctor at all, when your kid is ch”v running a 104 degree fever, or you’re having appendicitis-type pain. Having no insurance is gambling with the Malach HaMavis, because someone might not get care until it’s too late, or the overworked emergency room doctor overlooks something crucial. 9.5 million more covered means a lot of unnecessary deaths will be prevented.

  5. I signed up for Obamacare. I converted my HMO plan which cost me and my wife $1519.00 per month to an identical plan within the same HMO and the government will reimburse me over a thousand dollars a month. In 2 years we will go on Medicare and we won’t need Obamacare. In the meantime the government will pay 2/3 of my monthly healthcare bill for 2 years. I’m semi retired now. What a mechaya.
