netanyahu-liebermanFour parties will make up the new Israeli coalition government, adding up to a 68-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset.

It is the first Israeli government in decades not to include any chareidi parties and includes some staunch secularists.

On security matters, its members range from hard-line hawks to the center-left.

The four parties are Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu (31 seats, Yesh Atid (19 seats), Habayit Hayehudi (12 seats), and Hatnua (6 seats). For a look  at their main policies, click here.

  1. Boo Hiss! I just canceled a trip I had planned to Israel this Shavuos. Disappointed, sad, and just plain lousy feeling about our land.

  2. “adding up to a 68-seat majority in the 120-seat Knesset.”

Barely a majority. I don’t think this coalition will last more than a month.

  3. i totally don’t get how the israeli gov’t works, but from the sound of it, it doesn’t seem 2 good 4 da chareidim

  4. ????? ??? ????
is here, a Chasidishi buchir went to the lishkat Hagiyus, he underwent horrible treatment, and then his Payis were cut off for no given reason other then in the army you can’t keep these! what about the soldiers that do have them, no reasoning was given.

  5. 2. Comment from Not Surprised. I am also:Disappointed, sad, and just plain lousy feeling, but WHY, why talk & feel sadly “about our land”. What is the connection?? Our Land, Eretz Yisroel HaKedosha, is beautiful. We are here because Hashem wants us to be here. It has nothing to do with the politics. I am not here because of the State of Israel. My great grandfather was here before the State. Come, reconsider. Make that trip for Shavuos. Show the Love for the Land. Governments come & go. Have a Chag Kosher Pessach.
