As we approach the Yomim Noraim, it is more crucial than ever to ensure that our financial assets are all attained in full accordance with halacha. Hilchos Choshen Mishpat (monetary halacha) is complex and not well known to most, even talmideichachamim. It is therefore unfortunately quite common for individuals to violate halachos in their personal and business financial dealings, even without any ill intent.
Thankfully, this is the first Yomim Noraim ever where these halachos are easily within reach of every yid, thanks to the publication of Sefer Parnassah K’Halacha earlier this year. The first and only sefer of its kind, Sefer Parnassah K’Halacha was published by Machon Parnassah K’Halacha, a division of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, and is available in both Lashon Kodesh and English editions.
The sefer encompasses the most commonly applicable monetary halachos, with each halacha clearly and succinctly explained in terms understandable to every yid. In addition, practical scenarios are cited alongside the halachos, so that the lomeideasily understands their practical application.
Rabbanim of all stripes have cited the revolutionary, historical nature of this sefer, and how it ushers in a new era of awareness and adherence to monetary halacha. “It is not just a ‘sefer.’ It is a ‘movement’…the sefer should be found in every home and every shul,” were the words prominent poseik Rav Feivel Cohen shlit”a, Mechaber of Sefer Badei Hashulchan, used to describe “Sefer Parnassah K’Halacha.” The Lakewood Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler shlit”a, remarked that the sefer fulfills the passuk of “V’eileh hamishpatim asher tasim lifneihem,” as it places crucial halachos “in front” of all of Klal Yisroel.
Indeed, as the months have passed since the Sefer’s launch, it has flown off the store shelves and into homes and shuls in communities across the world – throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Eretz Yisroel and more. It is now a “staple” for any respectable sefarim shrank.
“Whether from America, Eretz Yisroel, or other locations, I keep on hearing from yidden who tell me how much they’ve gained from learning the Sefer,” says Duvi Honig, Founder and CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce. “It is a privilege for the Chamber to have brought about this revolution.
