Vice President Joe Biden met with PLO President Mahmoud Abbas this evening. Abbas offered condolences to Biden over the murder of US citizen Taylor Force yesterday in a terror attack in Yaffo.

At the same time, as could be expected, Abbas blamed Palestinian terrorism on Israel, specifically Israeli control over the West Bank.

Biden met with Abbas in Ramallah for about two hours, but did not speak to reporters before or after.

A statement by the official Palestinian Wafa news website said: “Abbas expressed his condolences over the American citizen who was killed yesterday, stressing at the same time that the occupation authorities have killed 200 Palestinians in the past five months.”

Wafa also said that Biden assured Abbas of the US administration’s commitment “to the principle of a two-state solution and the need to defend it, as well as the US administration’s permanent stance regarding the settlements.”

Texas native Taylor Force, 28, was on a trip to Israel sponsored by Vanderbilt University’s MBA program to see the country’s growing startup scene when a Palestinian man went on a stabbing rampage that left Force dead and 11 others wounded. Force graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a platoon leader and fire support officer.
