Afghan officials and intelligence sources said Wednesday that reclusive Taliban leader Mullah Muhammad Omar is dead, and died two or three years ago.
The one-eyed Omar has had a $10 million bounty on his head for aiding Osama Bin Laden after the September 11, 2001, attacks.
Like many wanted men in the region, he has been reported dead several times, but never with the backing of such high-level Afghan officials. The Taliban has not yet confirmed the reports, but is expected to issue a statement soon. Read more at BBC News.
