agudath-israel-emblem“Communities that vote are communities that are listened to.” That is the message today from Rabbi Yehiel M. Kalish, National Director of Government Affairs for Agudas Yisroel of America.

Today is a special election in the state of New York. The frum community lives in three areas of significance on this Election Day, Far Rockaway, the southern part of Flatbush, and part of Queens. This corresponds to the 23rd New York State Assembly District and the 9th US Congressional District.

Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, executive vice president of Agudas Yisroel, in a letter to yeshivos in Brooklyn and Queens stated the following about the special election: “It is being closely watched all across the United States – and because of the large number of Orthodox Jewish voters in the district, it is also being viewed as a measure of the influence of our community.”
