goldingWith the continued growth of Agudath Israel of America, and the expansion of its activities on the local and national scenes, the organization’s board of trustees has announced the appointment of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Golding to fill a newly created position, that of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Rabbi Golding currently serves as Executive Director of RCCS, the Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society. In accepting the role of COO of Agudath Israel, he will be returning to the organization where he previously served in various capacities before assuming his position at RCCS almost a decade ago.

During Rabbi Golding’s tenure at RCCS, RCCS grew to become a “household name” for those stricken with cancer and became the “first call to make” upon receiving the dreaded diagnosis. Even after assuming his new post at Agudath Israel, Rabbi Golding will continue to help the life-saving work of RCCS as a senior volunteer advisor to its staff and board.

According to Shlomo Werdiger, chairman of Agudath Israel’s board of trustees, “the board felt that, with the recent growth of Agudath Israel, and the expansion of its activities across the United States, it was essential to bring in a top level executive to serve as COO. We are extremely fortunate that a person of the stature of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Golding, who has done such an outstanding job in building RCCS, has agreed to fill this critical position for Agudath Israel.”

Mr. Werdiger added that Rabbi Golding’s familiarity with the inside workings of Agudath Israel, most recently apparent through his work as Director of Operations for the Twelfth Siyum HaShas at MetLife Stadium, will be a major asset as he returns to Agudath Israel.

With his appointment as COO of Agudath Israel, Rabbi Golding will join Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, Executive Vice President, Rabbi Shlomo Gertzulin, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Rabbi Labish Becker, Executive Director, as a member of the executive committee charged with the day-to-day leadership of the 92-year-old Orthodox Jewish organization. He will commence his new position on May 1, 2015.

  1. For someone who was a Kol Ree Na color war general, this new position should be a piece of cake.

Congratulations, Reb Yosef Chaim. Hatzlocha rabbah.
