Airbnb Sued Over Ban On Listings From Jewish Settlements In The Shomron

Five American Jews filed a lawsuit against home-share company Airbnb Inc. alleging its ban on listing from Jewish settlements in the West Bank discriminates against Jews.

In November, Airbnb announced it would be removing some 200 listings in Israeli settlements in the West Bank, prompting Israel to threaten legal action against the US company.  “We concluded that we should remove listings in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank that are at the core of the dispute between Israelis and Palestinians” the company announced in a statement.

The lawsuit was filed in San Francisco where Airbnb’s headquarter is based. Two of the five American Jews live in the Efrat and hold Israeli citizenship.
