All 17 Miners Trapped In New York Salt Mine Rescued

coal mineEmergency groups rescued 17 miners that were stuck in an elevator 900 feet underground in a Lansing, New York, salt mine this morning.

Officials said the workers were not in danger but that they were trapped since late Wednesday at the Cargill Salt Mine.

The miners communicated with emergency officials and received blankets and heat packs while they waited for rescued. Read more.
