What can be added to this story is that American Pharoah is owned by Egyptian-American Ahmed Zayat, a/k/a Ephraim Zayat, a graduate of Yeshiva University who later worked for the great philanthropist Zev Wolfson (a”h). The Zayat family is frum and lives in Teaneck, NJ. Who could ever have imagined that an Orthodox Jew would be involved in the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing?
