An Amtrak dispatcher who was injured in Tuesday’s deadly crash is suing the company for $150,000. Bruce Phillips is being treated at a hospital for a concussion, brain trauma and spinal injuries.

The lead investigator into the crash also revealed Thursday that the train sped for up to a full minute before the derailment, going 70 mph 65 seconds before the crash, speeding up to 100 mph 16 seconds before the crash, then ultimately reaching 106 mph in a 50 mph curve zone.

The train’s engineer, Brandon Bostian, has agreed to speak to investigators in the next few days. The body of an eight victim was found at the crash site Thursday. Read more.
