Camp Karlin Stolin’s mesivta division in Highland, NY, held a special seudas hodaah appreciation event this past Thursday to express gratitude to a group of first responders and police officers for their swift and life-saving work after 14-year-old camper Yechiel Mandel fell into a pool on July 5.
Joining Yechiel and his father in expressing their thanks were Rabbi Shimon Spira, the camp menahel; Rabbi Zevi Shain, menahel of the camp’s elementary division; camp paramedic Moshe Henig; and camp administrator Rabbi Dovid Pilchick.
Yechiel returned to the camp last Sunday evening, just a week after he had been in cardiac arrest after being pulled from the pool. Yechiel was greeted with lively singing and dancing, his return being seen by many as a miracle.
