Egyptian Foreign Minister and arab league secretary Nabeel ArabiThe Arab League today condemned Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip, calling on Israel to cease military action in both the strip and Egypt immediately.

The Arab League issued a statement on Sunday, imploring the United Nations to take action to end the attacks in which 15 people have died.

“We issued a statement condemning the Israeli offensive on Gaza … and Egyptian land,” Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby told reporters in Cairo.

“The United Nations has to take procedures to stop the Israeli offensive on Gaza,” he said, without giving details of the measures he was urging the UN to take.

Among those killed in the aerial attacks were the leader of an armed Palestinian faction and five civilians including three children.

Israel commenced the strikes after an assault along its border killed eight Israelis on Thursday. Over 100 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel over the weekend.

The Jordanian government also condemned on Sunday the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip as well as the killing of Egyptian policemen by Israeli troops in the Sinai border area.

“Jordan strongly condemns and categorically rejects this dangerous Israeli military escalation against civilians in Gaza,” said the minister of state for media affairs, Abdullah Abu Romman.

He urged “an immediate halt” on Israeli attacks on Gaza to prevent a “further escalation that could jeopardize the security and stability of the entire region.”

Late Saturday, police prevented hundreds of Jordanians from gathering at the Israeli embassy in Amman to protest the attacks.

  1. chutzpah. jews have full right to defend themselves. the israelis were attacked first as always and then the Arabs turn the tables and act like the victims.as usual

  2. theese arabs should condemmn themselfs for what going on in syria they have the nerve to talk about israel when in their backyard something a thousand times more terrible is happening what morons they are.

  3. Their usual – a nice cocktail of lies and propaganda
(they make it sound as if Israel simply decided to attack Egypt!!)
Now that Israel has managed to wake them up it might be a good time for them to ponder about the 1000s they themselves are murdering everyday between Syria, Libya, Yemen…. oh but of course arab lives are only important when they are attacking Israel, sorry go back to sleep

  4. Funny thing that the Arab league & Jordanian gov’t didn’t condemn the 100 rockets being shot into Israeli cities & killing/wounding Israeli civilians. Anybody want to venture a guess why?

  5. #6, don’t you know that it’s ethical to kill Jewish civilians who have stolen Arab land, but unethical to kill Arabs who are the victims in this fairy tale? Even the UN knows that. Let’s flip it and state the truth that it’s Jewish land that Arabs are aggressively trying to steal from us, and set straight the labels of victim and aggressor. Because that’s what it always comes down to.

  6. Learn Torah.

I’m not the first to say it, I won’t be the last.
The answer to our problem can be found at te end of last weeks parsha.
