Arabs Rush to Complete Illegal Mosque Just 10′ From PM Begin’s Grave on Har Hazeisim

har-hazeisim1As Jews were celebrating Shabbos just two days ago, Arab workers were frantically completing a mosque just 10′ from the grave of Menachem Begin, the late Prime Minister of Israel. The construction is an extension to an earlier section which was also built illegally.

“The most disturbing aspect of this development is that Israelis are indifferent to the construction of a Mosque on Har Hazeisim,” said Avrohom Lubinsky, Chairman of the International Committee for the Preservation of Har Hazeisim. In photos obtained by the Committee, it was possible to see how Arab workers worked day and night to complete the mosque.

According to Mr. Lubinsky, the Mosque will totally obstruct the view of Jerusalem so loved and coveted by the late Prime Minister. “Har Hazeisim will become a parking lot for the Arab worshipers who have persistently demonstrated their lack of respect for the Jewish graves.”

Just 10 days ago Arab thugs destroyed 14 tombstones on Har Hazeisim. He added that pleas by Jews living in nearby Maaleh Hazeisim to halt the construction have been ignored by the Yerushalayim Municipality led by Mayor Nir Barkat.

“This is nothing short of a national disgrace,” said Lubinsky, who asked: “Why does it take Jews from Brooklyn to sound the alarm about desecration of the 3,000 year old cemetery.” He added that Begin’s family and party will now face a mosque when they say kaddish at his yahrzeit, the only time there is a visible gathering of family and friends.

PM Begin asked to be buried on Har Hazeisim near the graves of two Etzel members who committed suicide rather than face the gallows the British. He also wanted his grave to face Har Habayis, which will now be blocked by the illegal construction.

  1. ” … two Etzel members who committed suicide rather than face the gallows the British.”

That phrase does not make any sense i either English or Hebrew.

“He also wanted his grave to face Har Habayis, which will now be blocked by the illegal construction.”

The grave is still facing ?? ????; nothing has changed there.

  2. This is M’inyuna D’yoima. Why did Begin want to face the Har Habais? He surely didnt anticipate the coming of Moshiach? Maybe he considered himsel a Pura Adima.

Anyway, why cry on this Rusha’s Kever when we have much more pressing issues facing us.

By the way, there is a Chiyav to seperate a rusha from Ehrlicha Yids Kever. Maybe some Ehrlich Yid is buried on the other side.

  3. How was Begin a rusha? Because he spent his entire life fighting for Am Yisroel? How many times did he have to go into hiding from the Nazis and the British. You sit there doing nothing for klal Yisroel cannot even imagine the sacrifice and love Begin had for all yidden. You are the true rusha.

  4. “Who cares”? “Rusha”?

Please be more careful with your words!

Perhaps Begin wasn’t religious but he had tremendous respect for those who are and was full of Ahavas Yisrael!

He also bravely defended Artzeinu Hakedosha from “friend” and foe alike and I beieve that yes, he did anticipate the coming of Moshiach!

The very fact that he wanted to be buried on Har Hazeisim instead of Har Herzl demonstrates this.

  5. #1 and #3

CLUELESS would be an understatement in describing your posts. Destruction of Har Hazesim was hot and heavy under the regime of the past Mayor also. THis has been a sore spot and ignored issue for years, hasnt just started yesterday.

WHO CARES,, perfect name for who cares, emes or sheker or forgot to check the past anyway. Menechem Begin was a yedid naman to Reb Aryeh Levin zt”l and personally delegated funds to Reb Rafeal’s yeshiva to sustain its budget. Eherlicht was his behavior and his religious observance..

  6. No.3: Your unkind words reveal that you are not a true ehrliche yid. Learn from the Satmar Rebbe, zt”l, who would never say a bad word about ANY Jew.

  7. #3 what you write about PM Begin A’H is a disgrace and against halacha even if you do not agree with him. This is not the lashon of a frum person.

  8. It is difficult to categorize someone who personally ,together with his entourage. made a visit to the apartment of the late Maran, Posek Hador, Rav Moshe Feinstein ZTL , as a Rasha.

In any event more has to be done in a clandestine, diplomatic way to stop the desecration of the makomos kadoshim.

Some one mentioned that he heard in the name of the GRA on the verse in Tehillim of “Somu As Yerushalyim LeyeeM” that the Eyin stands for Eisauv, the Yud is for Yeshu, the next yud for Yishmael and the final Mem for Muhammed.

The Yishmaeylim and descendants of Eisauv are unfortunately still trying their utmost to uproot our heritage.
