shiloIn an almost unbelievable revelation, archaeologists claim they have found the remains of Mishkan Shilo. The Mishkan in Shilo dates to the period between the conquest of Eretz Yisroel by Yehoshua bin Nun and the rise of Dovid Hamelech.

The archaeologists, according to Yisroel Hayom and Arutz Sheva, will display their findings this week at the Shilo site in Shomron at a conference that is to be held by the Shilo Organization.

Among the findings are holes hewn into the rock at the site. These holes, the archaeologists explain, could have been used in order to prop up wooden beams used in a structure like the Mishkan. The beams formed part of the walls of the Mishkan, reported Arutz Sheva.

Next to the hewn holes, in the northern part of Tel Shilo, structures have been discovered that date to the period between Yehoshua bin Nun and Dovid Hamelech.

Earthenware vessles and three large stoves were also found in one of the structures. The researchers say they were not intended for home use. This makes it more likely that the structures were part of a central public facility.

  2. Very interesting. I would not say “almost unbelievable “. How about “amazing”, “fantastic”, “exciting”, “astounding” or a many other adjectives that could be used. Unbelievable is not the right word. If it is almost unbelievable,it probably should not be reported. A thesaurus is helpful when you need more words and I highly recommend using one when needed.

  3. Could be anything, could’ve been the house that Eli lived in. Why do they insist on connecting this to the mishkan?

  4. They have long suspected that this was the site of the mishkan. Most homes built in the area find themselves digging up a good deal of broken pottery from dishes broken after eating korbanos. This is a very special place, a place of chessed and Torah. Kol hakavod to Shilo!
