Former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he’s “seriously” considering a run for U.S. Senate in 2018, throwing cold water on rumors the outspoken lawman who was pardoned by President Trump earlier this year will run for Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.)’s seat.
Arpaio told The Daily Beast on Thursday that he is actively looking at the possibility of running for the seat currently held by Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), who is retiring in January.
“I am seriously, seriously, seriously considering running for the U.S. Senate,” Arpaio said, “not the congressman’s seat.” Read more at The Hill.

Joe is 85 years old. Does he really want the job? Why doesn’t he retire quietly like the others his age?
It’s a shame Arpaio isn’t 20 years younger. Would make a great senator.
