internet-asifaMatzav.com has confirmed that despite a report in the chareidi media this week indicating a change of date, the upcoming Ichud Hakehillos L’Tohar Hamachane gathering, otherwise known as the “Internet Asifa,” will be talking place on Sunday, May 20, at CitiField in Queens, as originally scheduled.

A report on the front page of the Brooklyn-based Hamodia newspaper on Monday stated that the event would be taking place on May 28. Organizers, though, tell Matzav.com that this is mistaken and that the original date, May 20, was never changed.

The Hamodia report, by Avraham Weissman, primarily addressed the question of why women will not be participating in the asifa at CitiField. Askonim involved in the planning of the event explained that logistics did not allow for the stadium to be divided for men and women, and thus the decision was made for the 40,000 seats at the stadium to be designated for men.

Organizers were quick to point out to Matzav.com, however, that women will be participating in the event via satellite at various locations, with the program being broadcast live.

In addition to chizuk, hisorerus and general guidance, the asifa, organizers say, will offer participants tangible help to custom filter their technology. Rabbonim have been urged to work with their individual kehillos and apprise people of the importance of the Ichud’s mission and the upcoming asifa.

It is not clear how many people will attend the event, but organizers say that they are hopeful that they will fill the entire stadium after months of advertising, meetings, and pre-event publicity efforts.

  6. How can they know how many people will attend if they have not started selling tickets yet? What are they waiting for? Will they be selling them at the door only?

  7. Based on my baseball leanings, I have an aversion to CitiField. My Allegiance lies in the Bronx. Hence my problem. I cannot step into the place.

  8. Why is there no Asifa to address the crisis of Shidduchimm.

Hundreds of families are facing extinction due to a lack of continuity.

It is a silent holocaust with results of extermination at levels of those in World War 2.

Yet not once has an Asifa or any public forum taken place to address this issue.

Thousands of Klall Yisroel in all neighborhoods are lonely without a spouse- without whom to speak to.

The Yetzer Hora is there to entice and we are treated as mice.

    Is that nice???

  9. Any Assifa which is made to help the Ruchnius of Klall Yisroel is a real priveledge to be part of. t

Thank you HaOskim B’tzorchei Tzibbur BE-EMUNA
