Matzav.com has confirmed that despite a report in the chareidi media this week indicating a change of date, the upcoming Ichud Hakehillos L’Tohar Hamachane gathering, otherwise known as the “Internet Asifa,” will be talking place on Sunday, May 20, at CitiField in Queens, as originally scheduled.
A report on the front page of the Brooklyn-based Hamodia newspaper on Monday stated that the event would be taking place on May 28. Organizers, though, tell Matzav.com that this is mistaken and that the original date, May 20, was never changed.
The Hamodia report, by Avraham Weissman, primarily addressed the question of why women will not be participating in the asifa at CitiField. Askonim involved in the planning of the event explained that logistics did not allow for the stadium to be divided for men and women, and thus the decision was made for the 40,000 seats at the stadium to be designated for men.
Organizers were quick to point out to Matzav.com, however, that women will be participating in the event via satellite at various locations, with the program being broadcast live.
In addition to chizuk, hisorerus and general guidance, the asifa, organizers say, will offer participants tangible help to custom filter their technology. Rabbonim have been urged to work with their individual kehillos and apprise people of the importance of the Ichud’s mission and the upcoming asifa.
It is not clear how many people will attend the event, but organizers say that they are hopeful that they will fill the entire stadium after months of advertising, meetings, and pre-event publicity efforts.

was there a mechitzah by matan torah?
date was changed to the 16th
May28 is the second day of shevuos
how many technological solutions will be offered? (filter? buddy system, keystroke recording systems? etc)
Also from May24 to June4,citifield will have its regular tenants, the New York Mets baseball team there.
Advice : the next daf hayomi siyum happens in the early winter when MetLife stadium is occupied by the regular tenants( New York Giants/Jets fotball team). moshiach should come first
I had heard it was taking place on May 27.
Every news article I’ve read has stated different times the asifa will begin and end.
The 28th would be a problem because it is on Monday and it is Shavuos!
better let everybody know of the change
will the event be streamed live for those of us who cannot make because of job and family obligations? Please let us know
I say they should just post a transcript of this afisa on posters and glue them to telephone poles in Borough Park.
There’s also the fact that Monday, May 28 is the second day of Shavuous.
The Wolf
When are they going to have ASIFA about AHAVAS YISROEL,[REGARDLESS OF BEING,FRUM, NOT FRUM,BLACK HAT NO HAT,BLACK KIPPA,KNITTED KIPPA,ETC.].THAT ASIFA WILL BRING MESSICH ONCE MESSICH IS HERE ALL ISSUES WILL BE RESOLVED.DURING SEFIRA WE STILL DO NOT SHOW ENOUGH AHAVSAS YISROAL.
How can they know how many people will attend if they have not started selling tickets yet? What are they waiting for? Will they be selling them at the door only?
Based on my baseball leanings, I have an aversion to CitiField. My Allegiance lies in the Bronx. Hence my problem. I cannot step into the place.
Why is there no Asifa to address the crisis of Shidduchimm.
Hundreds of families are facing extinction due to a lack of continuity.
It is a silent holocaust with results of extermination at levels of those in World War 2.
Yet not once has an Asifa or any public forum taken place to address this issue.
Thousands of Klall Yisroel in all neighborhoods are lonely without a spouse- without whom to speak to.
The Yetzer Hora is there to entice and we are treated as mice.
Is that nice???
Is it true that it was changed to be held on Thursday next week, Lag Baomer?
It is on the 28th! The 28th of
iyar.
they are charging for this?
Any Assifa which is made to help the Ruchnius of Klall Yisroel is a real priveledge to be part of. t
Thank you HaOskim B’tzorchei Tzibbur BE-EMUNA
