shloime-grossThis evening, an asifas zikaron will be held l’illui nishmas the unforgettable Flatbush askan and baal chessed, Reb Shloime Yehudah Gross z”l, who was niftar on Erev Shabbos at age 51.

Reb Shloime was a noted baal chessed and baal tzedakah and one of the stalwart mispallelim of Khal Tiferes Yaakov of Flatbush, which is led by its rov, Rav Avrohom Schorr, with whom Reb Shloime shared a close kesher. Reb Shloime suffered a sudden heart attack Friday afternoon.

Tonight’s asifa will take place at Khal Tiferes Yaakov, which is located at 1212 East 15th Street in Flatbush. The program will begin at 8:45 p.m. and divrei zikaron will be delivered by Rav Elya Brudny, R”M at the Mirrer Yeshiva; Rav Lipa Geldwerth, maggid shiur at Yeshiva Torah Temimah and rov of Khal Kol Torah of Flatbush; and Rav Avrohom Schorr.

Reb Shloime was a selfless individual who spent his life doing for others and constantly bringing nachas to the Ribono Shel Olam. His passing has left the community in shock, plunged into immense sadness, as friends, family and Yidden all over contemplate the massive void that remains without Reb Shloime.

Reb Shloime is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Mimi Gross; his mother, Mrs. Rivka Gross; his sisters, Mrs. Chani Sosowsky and Mrs. Idy Moskowitz; and his children, R’ Aaron Gross, Mrs. Adina Kaplowiitz, Mrs. Tzipora Kaufman and Nosson Tzvi Gross; and extended family, numerous friends and acquaintances.

    All 3 darshanim were incredible!
