The Orthodox Union facilitated a meeting between local Orthodox Jewish leadership and Assemblyman Jon M. Bramnick. Assemblyman Bramnick, the Republican Leader in the Assembly, also represents Springfield in the Legislature and has been a leading liaison between Governor Christie and the state’s Jewish community. This was the first time the Springfield Orthodox community had met with him.Led by Rabbi Chaim Marcus of Congregation Israel, the leaders discussed education issues as well as local communal issues with the Assemblyman.
Howie Beigelman, OU Deputy Director of Public Policy stated:
“Leader Bramnick is a candid and hardworking legislator and we are sure this soon will become a full partnership between him and the local Orthodox community on issues of importance to everyone.”
Rabbi Chaim Marcus, of Congregation Israel stated:
“Thanks to the OU we were able to meet with Assemblyman Bramnick who represents us in Trenton, but also has significant leadership responsibilities statewide. We appreciate the Assemblyman’s willingness to listen and to help. We hope it’s only the beginning.”
