AT&T will reportedly test 5G networks beginning this year. The networks are as much as 100 times faster than 4G networks currently in use.
The new project, also being developed by Verizon, won’t likely be available to regular customers until about 2020.
AT&T said the company will start using components of 5G to offer wireless broadband before 2017.
South Korea is already looking to have a working 5G network by the time it hosts the 2018 Winter Olympics. Read more at Fortune.
