Attack At Israel Embassy In Jordan’s Capital

An attack has taken place at the Israeli embassy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with casualties reported, according to BBC and other news outlets.

A BBC reporter at the scene says the immediate vicinity has been locked down but authorities have not released details.

Media reports citing security sources say one Jordanian was killed and one Israeli seriously injured.

Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon said that the incident was “under full censorship,” preventing Israeli media and foreign journalists with Israeli press cards from reporting on the event.

Maan reports that the heavily protected embassy is located in the Rabiyeh neighborhood, an affluent part of Amman.
