[Audio below.] On Friday, October 31, Nachum Segal hosted incumbent New Jersey Senator Cory Booker on ‘JM in the AM’ to discuss the issues that most concern New Jersey voters ahead of the state’s Senate elections on Tuesday.
In addition to discussing the Torah portion and Senator Booker’s favorite Jewish holiday, the interview focused heavily on the importance of the democratic process, with both Senator Booker and Nachum pleading with listeners to make their way to the polls.
But perhaps the most poignant moment came when Nachum asked about the troubled relationship between the United States and Israel. The host intimated that with all of the noise surrounding the President’s relationship with Prime Minsiter Netanyahu, it is unclear if there is still support for Israel in the House and Senate. As an “insider,” Senator Booker assured Nachum that support for Israel has never been stronger.
“Whether you’re far left or far right, we are all on the same page,” explained Booker. “I’m glad to see unwavering support for Israel in Congress.”
