rav-yisroel-reisman[Audio below.] The following is a shiur delivered by Harav Yisroel Reisman, maggid shiur in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and mara d’asra of Agudath Israel of Madison. The shiur, on Parshas Nitzavim-Vayeilech,was delivered this week to Rav Reisman’s alumni over the telephone. Rav Reisman makes a strong effort to keep in touch with all his talmidim even after they have left the yeshiva. His weeklyteleconference is one that many of his talmidim look forward to each week.

  1. noteworthy that in slichos, aside from the fact that the letter samach symbolises the whole tefila as it is called S lichos with a samach, in the piyut itself we see an intresting change. whereas every time the word noh is mentioned it comes as asequel to the previous word i.e.gnon noh drosh noh etc in the nun verse of the piyut he places the noh before the word sagvaym instead of after as in all other cases. this therefore serves as the letter nun in the piyut but at the same time it inserts the samach as well and also subtely inserts the roshei tayva of the word ness thus assuring that our effort bmotozay menucha will definitely yield a ksiva vchasima tova regardless of what matzav we find ourselves as so aptly expressed in the pirush of lmaan shmo bahava. kvt to all of klal yisroel
