lelover-rebbe-smallOn Sunday night September 27, 2009, the eve of Yom Kippur, a short while after Maariv, Rav Shimon Noson Nuta Biederman zt”l, Lelover Rebbe of Bnei Brak, was niftar. The funeral was attended by more than 30,000 people.

Sadly, his Rebbetzin, Leah Yitta Biderman a”h, passed away Monday evening, 2nd Adar II, March 7. She collapsed last month at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Yisroel Ernster, and was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital where she remained until her passing. Eulogies were held in Bnei Brak and Jerusalem and burial was on Har Hazeisim alongside her husband, who served as Lelover Rebbe for 22 years, succeeding his father, Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Biderman, zt”l (1904-1987), Lelover Rebbe and author of Kedushas Mordechai.

The Rebbetzin is survived by three sons and six daughters: Rabbi Aharon Biderman, Beis Shemesh Lelover Rebbe; Rabbi Eliyahu Biderman, Bnei Brak Lelover Rebbe; and Rabbi Yaakov Biderman, Jerusalem Lelover Rebbe; Rebbetzin Gold; Rebbetzin Kornreich; Rebbetzin Bochner; Rebbetzin Gross; Rebbetzin Ernster; and Rebbetzin Leifer.

The previous Lelover Rebbe owned an automobile that, after his passing, was no longer being used. A party in Bat Yam expressed interest in acquiring the car. With the passing of the Rebbetzin, the children agreed to the purchase offer. The funds were used to pay for the burial site and tombstone.
