Baltimore’s city council on Monday confirmed Kevin Davis as the city’s new police chief, in a 12-2 vote. Some of the councilmembers said they backed Davis after consulting with black community leaders.
Yet the endorsement was far from unanimous: Protesters started chanting after the vote, “Back up, back up, we want freedom, freedom! All these racist [expletive] cops, we don’t need ’em, need ’em.” Read more at The Baltimore Sun.
