allen-westConservative talker Glenn Beck’s ideal White House ticket for 2012 features a pair of tea party favorites: U.S. Rep. Allen West, the first-term Florida Republican, for president, and three-term U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, as running mate. Beck, during his radio show on Monday, dubbed the duo a “dream team,” the Palm Beach Post reports.

“This guy is legit. He is very sharp,” Beck said in calling for a “draft Allen West movement.”

Beck cited a 2003 incident in Iraq in which West, then an Army lieutenant colonel, fired a gun near the head of an Iraqi detainee to frighten him into revealing details of a possible ambush. The incident cost West his command but he was allowed to retire with his rank and pension intact.

“The guy … led through war and he’s not afraid to pull the trigger,” Beck said. “This guy takes responsibility.”

“I think the same thing about Michele Bachmann,” Beck said.

He was less excited about the possibility of a Donald Trump candidacy, despite Trump’s recent strong showing in polls. But he added, “Look I don’t want a war with Donald Trump. Jeez, I’ve got enough billionaires with unlimited amounts of cash that are [angry] at me.”

  1. allen West is meichasidei umos ha’olam, a great candidate
he was interview by the yated a few years ago and was extremely pro Israel

  2. The most important quality to look for in a candidate for POTUS is that he should be extremely pro-American. If he is pro-American he will of necessity be pro-Israel. The inverse is also true. Anyone who is actively anti-Israel is also going to be anti-American. Whatever is good for Israel is also good for America and whatever is bad for Israel is usually very bad for America.
