bennett1The Ministry for Religious Services was handed over to Habayit Hayehudi party chairman Naftali Bennett by Shas party MK Yaakov Margi in a ceremony today. Bennett will serve as minister and MK Eli Ben-Dahan will serve as deputy minister.

“This is a great opportunity to sanctify G-d’s name and to make Judaism accessible to every citizen of Israel,” Bennet proclaimed. “We promised to restore the Jewish spirit to the nation of Israel, and that is what we’re doing. We see this ministry as holy. We will not serve citizens based on the size of their kippah. We will serve the entire nation.”

  1. The Reform also think they are sanctifying G-d’s name. What does “to make Judaism accessible to every citizen of Israel. Did someone forget to tell Bennett that there are 1 million arab-israeli citizens. That is why we call ourselves JEWS, not Israelis. What access!!! No one was ever denied access to Judaism. The Torah has been open to all Jews since Har Sinai. If you are referring about more watering down of Torah law, to be user friendly, Been There- Done That.

  2. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! I didn’t know Bennett was also a comedian! This guys good! I see him getting a spot on Lederman.

  3. What makes him think there’s no jewish spirit until now look at all of the chareidi yeshivas there are and on the other hand more modern and baalei teshuva yeshivas there are in israel today why is he creating problema that aren’t there we are all one nation chareidi or not chareidi

  4. “We will not serve citizens based on the size of their kippah”.

That is not what I was worried about.

I am more concerened that he will serve the religious needs of the citizens based on the size of his OWN kippah!!!!

EXPLANATION: These Dati Leumi guys often assume that their level of frumkeit is the standard and all others are simply fanatics. We would be better off with an irreligious minister who would maintain the status quo of recognizing the haredi level of religion as the standard…

  5. WELL THEN WHY DID YOU SINGLE OUT THE CHARIEDIM FROM THE COALITION. ALSO HOW CAN YOU SERVE AS THE HEAD OF THIS IF YOU ARENT RELIGIOUS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO…………. ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS DESTROY IT MORE THEN HELP IT OUT. CUZ WITHOUT DAAS TORAH ITS MEANINGLESS

  7. The idea of a man who has not completed his own neshamas journey to a truly orthodox well being is not very congruent with a trust in a leadership position to make the Jewish spirit truly shine. If you ask me, Mr. Bennett must do more than posken for a change in the world around him.

  8. Good move, a majority of am yisroel relates to the Frumkeit of Torah Nationalist Jews. May hashem guide them to do the right in the eyes of the Torah.

  9. Hashem should give this man what he deserves. Anyone that defies Daas Torah and brings such gezerios to lomdei torah and tears to the eyes of our greatest sages does not have Olem Haboh. Guaranteed. To those who ask how I know that – go ask a posek. It is clear to anyone that has any sense of the Ruach Hatorah. Hashem should help us and destroy this Gov’t before they do any harm to Toras Yisroel.
