Long-term consequences of a Syrian chemical weapons attack in 2013 is still unfolding in the affected regions. According to a study published by The Lancet’s Global Health journal, medical records indicate that there is a growing rate of spontaneous miscarriages, stillbirths and birth defects to women exposed to the gases.

Of the 110 women who reported exposure and visited the Moadamyah hospital in late 2014, 49 had miscarriages, four gave birth prematurely, and seven delivered babies with defects. Read more at The Lancet.
