bobov-rav-bentzion-halberstamIsrael has come under terror attacks recently that has cost the lives of many and injured dozens others, from the most recent bus stabbing incident, to the cars ramming into people at crowded bus stations, but despite all that, Jews still feel connected to the Holy Land and as many as several thousands of people will gather in Israel next week to celebrate a high point in the Bobover Chassidus.

Close to 3,500 people are expected to travel to Eretz Yisroel from across the globe to celebrate a new building that has just come to completion. The new building, in the city of Bnei Brak, will accommodate the hundreds of talmidim studying in the Bobover Yeshiva.

The Bobover Rebbe, Rav Bentzion Aryeh Leibish Halberstam, a son of the former Rebbe, Rav Shlomo Halberstam, and brother of his predecessor, Rav Naftali Halberstam, will travel along and visit Eretz Yisroel for two weeks, celebrating the opening of the new building.

The Rebbe will leave to Eretz Yisroel on Sunday, February 1st.

The visit will be the first official visit to Eretz Yisroel by the Bobover Rebbe since succeeding his brother nearly ten years ago.

Just weeks ago, at a fundraising event, the Rebbe spoke about the conditions in Eretz Yisroel.

“Since the summer, when rockets were being shot towards Israel, I have remained very hesitant to go through with the visit… I have recently spoken to a rov in Eretz Yisroel and I relayed to him that I’m very hesitant considering the terror attacks that are occurring, but he told me that ‘should you cancel the visit, it will make an unprecedented impression that so many people are scared to travel to Eretz Yisroel. In fact, just the opposite, the fact that so many people will be coming, despite the attacks, will give us here great strength.'”

On Shabbos, the thousands of guests, along with those from across Israeli cities, will gather in two huge tents, built for the occasion, and the Rebbe will daven along with them and conduct a tish.

On Sunday afternoon, the community will gather in Bnei Brak, where they will celebrate the opening of the new building. At the same time, a new Sefer Torah will be dedicated to the yeshiva.
