Body of R’ Dovid Mordechai Arenowitz z”l Found


Askanim confirmed to that a body found yesterday in the Hudson River is the body of R’ Dovid Mordechai Arenowitz z”l. Boruch Dayan Ha’emes.

R’ Dovid Mordechai’s dental records were matched at the medical examiner’s office.

The tragic passing of R’ Dovid Mordechai rocked the Jewish community of Rockland County and beyond on Friday, January 22. A 46-year-old father of three, R’ Dovid Mordechai was a beloved friend to so many. He suffered yissurim for many years, but he surely ascended to the Yeshiva Shel Maalah cleansed and purified, embraced by his loving Father.

Following his passing, family, friends and strangers came together in a display of tremendous achdus to bring peace to his neshamah.

The country’s foremost diving firm employed underwater scanners and robots to plumb the depths of the Hudson River, running up costs of $10,000 per day. But Klal Yisroel didn’t rest until the search was completed successfully.

Family and other issued a heartfelt expression of gratitude to all those involved in the search for the body during the last two months. These include the indefatigable R’ Yanky Mayer of Misaskim, as well as Yossi Margareten, Moishy Kaff, Heshy Gottdiener, Yanky Breier, Zevi Spitzer, Yaakov Yosef Kaff and many others, including the hundreds of Yidden who donated funds to help defray the costs for the search in the Hudson River.

Boruch Hashem, the Arenowitz family can now sit shivah and R’ Dovid Mordechai can be brought to kever Yisroel.
