Boehner: Obama Not ‘Serious’

boehnerHouse Speaker John Boehner told a closed meeting of his Republican colleagues that if President Obama is against the GOP counteroffer, the president “has a responsibility to put forward a plan that can pass both chambers of Congress,” according to sources in the room. President Obama has indicated he will not meet with Boehner until he agrees to some tax increases.

The two have reportedly not spoken in a week, and their respective staffs have not communicated in several days.

Boehner said, “If the president is serious about averting the fiscal cliff, he’s done nothing to demonstrate it.” Read more at Politico.
