boehner1In a statement released today, House Speaker John Boehner spoke out in support of Steve Scalise, the incoming Republican majority whip who recently came under fire for addressing a white supremacist group more than a decade ago.

“Representative Scalise made an error in judgment, and he was right to acknowledge it was wrong and inappropriate,” Boehner said. “He has my full confidence as our whip, and he will continue to do great and important work for all Americans.”

Scalise also apologized for speaking to the European-American Unity and Rights Organization (EURO) when he was a Louisiana state representative.

“It was a mistake I regret, and I emphatically oppose the divisive racial and religious views groups like these hold,” he said. “Those who know me best know I have always been passionate about helping, serving, and fighting for every family that I represent. And I will continue to do so.” Read more at Speaker of the House.

  1. Well this just goes to show, that ALL Republicans are Evil White RACISTS and the Country would do good by eliminating that Evil Party.

  2. Great. There are lots of normal, patriotic, well-intentioned Republicans all over the country. So the House has to defend this guy who claims he is too careless to find out who exactly he is speaking to. If you didn’t know who David Duke was in 2002 you were living on an island. He was notorious, in the news for quite a while, tried to run for Congress, and got thoroughly exposed by the ADL. He was a proud neo-Nazi and let everybody know about it. Mr. Scalise has no excuse. He really didn’t care who he pandered to as long as he got their votes.

What happened to the Republican Party of Ike Eisenhower? Let the party return to its real roots, and stop playing games with its wacko wing.
